Coin action, mechanical-connection. - A coin-freed mechanism comprises a, rotary coin-carrier 1 having a pair of stops 10,11 for limiting its movement relative to an arm 6, which is attached to the carrier by a spring 7 and is rotatable about the same axis 4. A spring-controlled pivoted catch 8, having a pin 9 to ride on the periphery of the carrier, normally retains the arm 6. When a coin 3 is inserted through a shoot 15 into a slot 2 in the carrier and the carrier is rotated by a handle 5, its protruding edge lifts the catch 8 by engaging the pin 9, thereby allowing the arm 6 to rotate. The arm 6 is rigid with the shaft 4 or with a. sleeve mounted thereon, and is connected to a gear wheel for operating any suitable mechanism. Reverse movement of the arm 6 is prevented by a spring seizing with the shaft 4 or with the sleeve. or by a ratchet device. If the arm 6 is carried by a sleeve, the carrier 1 may be fixed to the shaft 4. Rearward movement of the carrier is also prevented by a lug 13 engaging the pin 9.
