Abstract

458,415. Steam generators. EGLOFF, H. K., 21, Museumstrasse, Winterthur, Switzerland. June 18, 1935, No. 17499. Convention date, Aug. 13, 1934. [Class 123 (ii)] [See also Groups XXXIII and XXVI] In a steam power installation for ships, a single-tube high-pressure steam generator is employed in which water is utilized and heated in the section 6 and then passes down to a section 8 where steam is generated and thence from a steam separator 9 the fluid passes to a superheater section 10 and thence to the main engine 12, 13. In the steam supply pipe line are pressure controls 37, 38 for valves 35, 36 whereby upon generation in excess of the engine demand steam passes through the pipe line 17 to a low pressure generator 16. There is also provided on the steam supply pipe a device 23 which, in accordance with the temperature of the steam, controls the inlet pipe 20 whereby water make-up is supplied to the superheater coil to maintain constancy of superheat. The group of single tubes may be employed in parallel with a common separator.
