[Class 123 (ii).] In water-tube boilers generating steam at a pressure of the order of 100 atmospheres within a continuous tube, the working medium is fed to the inlet of at least one tube having a heating surface at least 24000 times its internal cross-sectional area at a pressure below the critical value but at least 20 atmospheres above the delivery pressure, the fall in pressure being effected gradually. The tube length may exceed 1000 metres for large installations.
