693,326. Steam boiler blow-down apparatus. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. May 22, 1951 [June 2, 1950], No. 11924/51. Class 123 (ii) In a steam power plant comprising a steam boiler 3 and turbine 4, feed-water supply tank and pump 1, 2, respectively, and condenser 5, water is blown down from the separator 6 of the boiler through a valve 7 which is controlled by an impulse transmitter 12 associated with a flow meter 11 in the make-up water pipe 10 and/or by a similar transmitter 16 associated with a salinometer 15 in the supply pipe to the tank 1. Some of the blown-down water may be returned to the supply tank 1 through a valve 8 which is controlled by a gauge 9 in dependence on the water level in the separator so as to maintain the latter substantially constant.
