Abstract

577,370. Combined carburetters and steam superheaters for water gas. BALFOUR & CO., Ltd., H., BURNS, W. L., and GIBSON, J. W. May 24, 1944, No. 10088. [Class 55 (ii)] In a water-gas plant the carburetter and steam superheater are combined and comprise a casing 1 with a filling 2, a gas inlet 5.and an outlet 6, a steam coil 3 disposed therein, and a pipe 10 entering the top of the casing fitted with a sprayer 15 supplying liquid fuel from a tank 7 by means of an ejector device 11. As shown, a steam supply valve 18 in the pipe 3 is controlled by a thermostat 16 in the casing 1 and the ejector is supplied with steam through the valve 14.
