Abstract

532,944. Forced flow steam boilers. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Aug. 1, 1939, No. 22291. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1938. [Class 123 (ii)] In a forced flow tubular boiler having a separator 6 in the evaporation zone to separate part only of the water from the steam, and a separator 11 at the beginning of the superheating zone 14, the discharge of water from the separators is controlled by a single temperature responsive device. The temperature responsive device consists of a part 10 of the tube system between the separators and operates valves 51, 12 in the discharge pipes of the separators through servomotors 53, 31. Part of the water collecting in the separator 6 flows through a metering device 7 of constant crosssection in a pipe 8 to a low pressure stage 50 of the installation. The other part of the water together with the water from the separator 11 is discharged into the feed tank 22. A further temperature responsive device 15 beyond the superheater controls through servomotors the supply of feedwater injected into the steam through a pipe 36, a valve 40 in the supply pipe 16 of an engine 17, and a valve 43 in a byepass 44 connecting the pipe 16 directly to'the exhaust pipe 18.
