Abstract
686,008. Desuperheating steam. VITKOVICKE ZELEZARNY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA, NARODNI PODNIK, and DOLEZAL, R. Dec. 22, 1949 [Dec. 23, 1948], No. 32833/49. Class 123 (iii) In a steam power plant comprising a boiler 1 with superheater 2 and, say, a turbine 8 with condenser 9 discharging into the boiler feedwater tank 12, the superheat temperature is controlled by a spray desuperheater 3 to which is supplied steam condensate from a condenser 15 located in the boiler feedwater supply pipe 16. The steam supply to the condenser 15 is taken direct from the boiler through a pipe 21, and the condensate is led to a tank 17 from which it is delivered by a pump 18 through a pipe 19 and regulating valve 4 to the desuperheater, or, alternatively through an overflow pipe 20 into the tank 12. The valve 4 is controlled by a thermostat 5 in the boiler outlet.
