[June 14, 1956], No. 16290/57 Class 123(1) [June 14, In a steam power plant employing a generator operating at or above critical pressure and at a temperature of at least 600‹C., the generator 2 supplies steam to a high pressure turbine 3 whence it flows successively through a reheater 5, an intermediate pressure turbine 6, a second stage reheater 9 and low pressure turbine 7 to a condenser 10. From the condenser water is pumped through preheaters 12 and a degasifier 13 into a feed tank 14 whence a pump 15 delivers it into the generator. To prevent corrosion, particuarly in the turbine 7 and the condensate return pipe, ammonia in the liquid or gaseous state is added to the working fluid to give an ammonia content in the feedwater of 0.1 to 2 mg. per litre, the ammonia being injected into the feedwater at one of points 16, 17 or 18 or into the turbines 6, 7.
