Abstract

785,035. Elastic-fluid turbines; vapour engine power plant. PRIME MOVERS, Ltd., C. V. Jan. 6, 1955 [Aug. 3, 1954], No. 22463/54. Classes 110 (3) and 122 (3). A heat source at a temperature level below 200‹ C. is utilized to heat a working fluid which is gaseous at normal temperatures and pressures and constitutes the working medium in a closed cycle turbine plant. The heat source is waste steam or gases or a natural source such as springs, mine water or solar heat. The working medium may be carbon or sulphur dioxide, or ammonia. The heat is supplied to the medium in a counterflow heat exchanger 5 and the turbine 2 exhausts through a second counterflow heat exchanger 12 and a condenser 13 to a vessel 14. A pump 15 recirculates the medium after raising its pressure substantially above the critical pressure.
