Abstract
310,975. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine. Elektricitõts-Ges.). May 5, 1928, [Convention date]. Superheating by steam.-In steam installations having an intermediate, superheating, the steam effecting this superheating is employed at or near its critical pressure, and is produced in a closed system independent of the water circuit of the main low-pressure steam generator, this system being maintained at the desired pressure by a pump. Steam generated in a boiler K passes by a pipe L to the high-pressure part of a turbine T, then through an intermediate superheater ZW, and thence through the lower pressure part of the turbine and to a condenser K<1>. The circulation of heating steam is maintained by a pump U, which forces the water through a heater built in the boiler K or arranged separately. The return pipe R' is connected to a vessel B through the feed pump Sp. This produces the critical or a somewhat higher pressure, Regulation of the temperature is effected by a throttle or reducing valve R, or by a small back-pressure turbine adapted to drive auxiliary apparatus in the installation.
