Abstract
338,512. Baumann, K., and Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. Aug. 16, 1929. Feedwater, supplying.-Water of condensation from a heater, such as an interstage super - heater 3, supplied with heating steam from a boiler 20 is returned to the boiler by gravity feed apparatus comprising a closed chamber 6, into which the condensate is drawn from a collector 5 when a valve 18 in the steam pipe 17 is closed and the steam in the chamber is condensed by boiler feedwater passed through a coil 12. The condensate passes into the boiler from the chamber, when the valve 18 is opened, through a pipe 8 provided with a non-return valve 11. The valve 18 may be operated by a float in the chamber. Feedwater may be passed through the coil 12 only when the valve 18 is closed.
