Abstract

453,106. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. April 6,.1936, No. 10150. Convention date, April 6, 1935. [Class 38 (ii)] A regulating transformer comprises a low tension winding b, a high tension winding c, and a regulating winding c1 associated through a reversing switch g with a voltage divider e. The arrangement is such that by anti-clockwise movement of the regulating switch t from the position shown (which gives maximum voltage between the terminal o and the free end of the winding c) the voltage is reduced in steps until the contact i is reached. Further reduction in voltage is thereafter obtained by changing over the switch g and continuing to move the switch t in an anti-clockwise direction with the voltage across the voltage divider e opposing that of the winding c.
