Abstract

1,196,258. Transformer arrangements. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 20 Nov., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966]. No. 52605/67. Heading H2H. In a tap changing transformer comprising a main winding 1 connectable to either end of a regulating winding 2 through a plus-minus switch 3 and having rotating contacts 9-11 passing over tap contacts 20-29 successively, a switching contact 8 is provided which extends through a length greater than the distance the rotating contacts move during a complete switching step between adjacent tap contacts. Through a Geneva mechanism, switch 3 is reversed while contacts 9-11 move over contacts 8, the arrangement preventing a high voltage appearing between contacts 29, 8 when contact 10 lies therebetween, and similarly between contacts 8, 20 with respect to contact 11. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown) one end of the regulating winding is connectable to a tap on the main winding. Contacts 20, 29 may be extended similarly to contact 8, see Fig. 3 (not shown).
