Abstract

1,021,804. Tap changing transformers. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 18, 1963], No. 30618/64. Heading H2H. [Also in Division H1] A tap changing transformer arrangement comprises four thyristors 411, 412, 421, 422 connected in a bridge circuit to two tapping switches 11, 12 and a pair of rectifiers 431, 432 having the function point V serving as one load terminal. By variably controlling thyristors 411, 421 in the forward direction of load current and thyrstors 412, 422 in the reverse direction, the voltage at point V may be controlled. The switches 11, 12 may be arranged to pass over a number of tabs in succession. The inverse voltage across the rectifiers may be used to control the operation of the thyristors. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 2, not shown) the switches 11, 12 are not used and one arrangement as shown is connected between each pair of taps.
