Abstract
421,441. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. May 4, 1934, No. 13560. Convention date, May 4, 1933. [Class 38 (ii)] The window of a transformer core 1, Fig. 1, is divided into two parts by a variable leakage bridge 4 which comprises two comblike parts and separates the high tension windings 3 from the low tension windings 2. In Fig. 2, which shows the leakage bridge in section, one part of the bridge 5 remains in contact with the main core while the other part 6 which carries a clamping bolt 8 can be moved when the nuts 9 are slackened to vary the air gap 7 and alter the leakage flux through the bridge. Guiding means may be provided to ensure rectilinear movement of the part 6.
