Abstract

Transformers. - In current transformers for measuring purposes, air gaps l are formed in the core so as to obtain a magnetically saturated iron path at s thereby causing the flux to be more nearly proportional to the magnetizing current. The resulting increased magnetizing current is compensated for by connecting a condenser c either across the secondary winding, across compensating windings W<a> as shown in Fig. 2, or across a separate auxiliary winding W<c> as shown in Fig. 3.
