Abstract
379,640. Transformers. WIRZ, E., 9, Weihermattstrasse, Binningen, Basle, Switzerland. March 17, 1932, No. 8024. Convention date, March 17, 1931. [Class 38 (ii).] The main flux of a transformer is deflected with increasing secondary current for the purpose of limiting the currents and voltages in the secondary circuit by providing the core with extra stampings which form leakage bridges st between the primary bridging Pr and secondary winding Sek, and at the same time effect a thickening of the yokes i which reduces the no-load currents. The application of the invention to a shell type transformer is shown in Figs. I and 2, while Fig. 6 shows a core type transformer in which the secondary winding Sek is subdivided into sections which may be connected in series or in parallel.
