Abstract

356,487. Transformers. STROHSCHNEIDER, R., 11A, K³hnertsgasse, Nuremberg, Germany. Sept. 11, 1930, No. 27180. [Class 38 (ii).] A transformer providing a variable low-voltage output comprises a primary winding P on a fixed E-shaped core K carrying a secondary coil s1 connected in series with a pair of similarly wound coils S2, S3 located in grooves on a movable core-piece A completing the two magnetic circuits. In the position shown, the voltages of the coils S2, S3 are equal and opposite causing the voltage at the secondary terminals to be equal to that of the coil S1. Increase or decrease of the output voltage is caused by moving the core-piece A and coils S2, S3 to the right or left respectively so as to add or subtract the resultant voltage of the coils S2, S3 to or from the voltage of the coil S1.
