Abstract

283,131. Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi. Jan. 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Regulating transformers. - Regulation of a single-phase welding transformer is effected by means of a tertiary winding connected in series with either the primary or secondary winding and energized by the leakage flux. The tertiary winding may consist of a single winding 3 each turn of which embraces both the primary winding 1 and the secondary winding 2, or it may be a compound winding having turns embracing the primary and connected in series with turns embracing the secondary. Tappings are provided at a, b, c, and means are provided for connecting the tertiary winding in series with the main winding for low current output and in opposition thereto for high current output, the load circuit being connected between the terminal A<1> and the free end of the tertiary winding or one of the tappings a, b, c.
