Abstract

291,700. Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi. Oct. 12, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 283,131. Regulating transformers; polyphase transformers.-Relates to regulating the voltage drop in welding transformers by connecting in series with the secondary winding a tertiary winding energized by leakage flux as described in the parent Specification, and consists in applying this method of regulation to transformers in which the primary winding is adapted for polyphase supply. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which the primary is fed from a three phase supply A, B, C and is arranged in two parts 1, 3 on the outer limbs of a core the centre limb of which carries the secondary winding 2. The tertiary winding 4 surrounds the three legs and may be connected either in series with or in opposition to the main secondary winding 2. The load is connected between the terminal A1 and the free end of the tertiary winding or one of the tappings a, b, c provided thereon.
