Abstract

[Class 38 (ii).] In order to provide for fine adjustment of the turns ratio in current transformers, the core is arranged to form a part of either the primary or secondary winding in such manner that the effect of a turn embracing a variable proportion of the total flux is obtained. For example, in a transformer comprising a core 1, and a bar-type primary 2, the secondary 3 feeding the load 4 comprises turns embracing the whole of the core cross-section, and a turn comprising a clip 8, sliding contacts 5, 6, and the core itself which embraces a variable proportion of the total flux.
