Abstract
448,544. Exhaust and like silencers. LASCROUX, J. L., 30, Boulevard Georges Clemenceau, Marseilles, France. Oct. 12, 1935, No. 28228. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1934. [Class 7 (ii)] An expansion chamber 7 is provided at each end with a series of semicircular discs 2 communicating at their centres by cup-shaped depressions 8 with the inlet or exit pipe 6 or 9, the peripheries of the discs being closed by the internal wall of the chamber, so that gases entering by the pipe 6 are deflected as shown. by the arrows 10, 11 to the open sides of the discs at that end, into the chamber 7, and then enter the sides of the discs at the opposite end and are deflected centrally as indicated by arrows 12, 13, into the exit pipe 9.
