Abstract

434,796. Valves. WEDHOLM, F., 8, Hegergasse, Vienna. Dec. 6, 1933, No. 34257. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 13, 1934]. [Class 135] In taps or valves for water or other liquid supply having two relatively movable members, such as plates 8, 9, with co-operating apertures, the members or their coacting surfaces are of non- oxidizing and non-corrodible materials of different degrees of hardness, for example, stainless steel and nickel. The plate 8 is fastened by soldering &c. in the casing 1 and the plate 9 is rotated by a lost-motion connection with a rotatable rod 5 provided with a head 3, contact between the plates being maintained by fluid pressure and by a spring washer 13 held in position by a screwed sleeve 14 attached to the water &c. inlet. The nickel and stainless steel surfaces may be provided by the use of thin plates attached to the main plates by soldering &c., or by plating, chemically or electrically, the main plates. The passage x in one plate is tapered to graduate the fluid supply.
