Abstract
293,843. Deutsche Werke Kiel Akt.- Ges. July 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Mixing valves.-In a valve or tap for regulating supplies of hot and cold water &c., the operating spindle d is formed integrally with a lift valve c co-operating with a seating f in the casing to close the outlet, and with a tubular or sleeve valve h the upper portion of which is provided with ports h', h<2> adapted, when the spindle is depressed, to co-operate with the orifices of hot and cold water supply pipes b', b<2>, the proportions of the mixture being regulated by rotation of the spindle. The port h<1> in the sleeve h is wider than the port h<2> so that hot water can only be supplied mixed with more or less cold water though cold water can be supplied alone. The valve is normally closed by a spring e and fluid pressure under the sleeve h. The operating knob g, which is provided with suitable indications, is limited in its rotation by an arm o on the spindle co-operating with a stop p in the casing. The pressure of the cold water supply in the pipe b<1> may be regulated by throttling means k. The valve can be modified for use with more than two media.
