Abstract

183,862. South Metropolitan Gas Co., Chandler, D., and Cooke, J. J. April 15, 1921. Mixing fluids in flow.-In means for actuating gas and air plug cocks, by means of a common handle or other actuating device, for regulating the supply of gas and air to a burner, plug cocks 3, 4, 7 regulating respectively the supply of gas, of a portion of air for combustion, and of the remaining portion of air, are all connected to a common actuating bar 9 which is fast with the plug 4 and has a pair of studs 10, 11. The stud 10 engages the walls of a slot in an arm 12 fast with the cock 3, and the stud 11 engages the walls of a slot in an arm 13 fast with the cock 7. Movement of the handle downwards is limited by the studs 10, 11 coming against the ends of the slots, and upwards by a stud 14 coming against slot 13. The maximum supplies of gas and air are respectively regulated by means of a conical valve 16 and a screw-threaded plug 19,
