Abstract

270,979. Lane, H. G. Dec. 4, 1926. Mixing-valves. - A valve for regulating a hot and cold water supply comprises a rotary plug 6 with an axial outflow bore 5 and a stem extended and bent to form a hollow handle 5A through which the supply is delivered. The plug is formed with a left - hand square screw-thread 12 engaging the casing 9 which is provided with hot and cold inflow branches 11, 10, a mixing chamber 13, seating washer 15 attached to a removable screw plug 14, and a gland 18 with packing 17 and a washer 16. Ports 7, 8, in the plug enable the supplies respectively of hot and cold water to be regulated by rotation of the plug whilst the outflow is cut off when the plug seats on the washer 15, in which position the handle 5A is turned to one side parallel to the end of a bath &c.
