Abstract

151,807. Moran, F. B. Aug. 30, 1919. Mixing-valve.-A valve or faucet for delivering any one, or a mixture, of a number of liquids comprises a hollow tapered chamber 1, Fig. 1, having three inlets 15, 16, 17 and one outlet 22 ; the latter may have a draw-off tap 21 and a thermometer 23 fitted thereto. The tapered controlling-plug 6, Fig. 6, has V-shaped openings 24, 26 and a double V-shaped opening 25, for controlling the inlets 15, 17, and 16, respectively, and an elongated opening 29 for the outlet 22. The plug can be turned so that the inlets may be all closed, or any one opened and the other two closed, or the middle one opened partially with either of the other two. The plug is secured in the chamber by a cap 4 with packing interposed, and the stem 12 is screwed and engages a nut 13 whereby the plug can be adjusted longitudinally. In a modification the casing 1 is modified so as to discharge axially through the open end of the plug.
