Abstract

156,928. Muntz, W. E. Oct. 21, 1919. Plug cocks; closure members.-A valve device for deflecting the discharge of liquids and selecting the size and shape of the issuing jet comprises a hollow coned plug 8 fitted with a coned selector plug 14 having through passages 15 varying in shape, size, and position. The plugs are held to their seatings by enclosed springs and are actuated by separate handles at opposite ends. The arrangement is used in conjunction with a plug cock 1 in which the plug 5 has a tapered slot 4 co-operating with one or more long tapering ports 3 in the valve casing whereby single liquids, or a mixture of liquids in variable proportions, may be controlled.
