Abstract

209,007. Rotherham, K., and Smith, H. N. Sept. 14, 1923. Sliding valves.-A tap for petrol and the like comprises a tubular body A, threaded at A<3> for attachment to a pipe line, and containing a pair of cork discs B, D, separated by the sliding valve plate C having an aperture C<2> for the passage of liquid. The discs are pressed together by screwing a member E into the casing, which member is also threaded at E<3> for attachment to the pipe line. The member E is locked by a screw G which engages in one of a number of grooves E<4>. The slide is actuated directly by knobs C<3>.
