Abstract

376,628. Taps or cocks. PRICE, S. H., Fairview, Bective Road, Putney, London. Dec. 7, 1931, No. 33898. [Class 135.] In a screw-down tap or cock of the kind having an additional ball valve 9 normallv held off its seat 10 by a projection 11 on the main valve, a spring 12 is placed below the ball and acts in conjunction with the water pressure. The ball 9 is located in a cylindrical chamber 8 below the seat 2 of the main valve 3. The lower end of the spring is guided in a socket in a screw plug 14. The projection 11 on the valve 3 is of such length that when the spindle 5 is screwed upwards as far as possible in the stand 6, the ball 9 is in contact with its seat 10.
