Abstract

Burners, mounting; oil supply.-The hook-ended handle 15 of a cock or valve 7 in the supply pipe to an oil burner mounting acts as a guard when the valve is open to prevent the removal of a handle 4 carrying the burner tube 1 from the housing member 8. The handle 4 is clamped by a screw 9 to a union-piece 6 connecting the housing member to the cock. The union-piece contains a ball valve 11 which is held open when the handle 4 is in position by a projection 12 on the handle and is closed automatically by the oil pressure when the handle becomes loose on its seating or is removed. The cock 7 preferably consists of a conical plug thrust against its seating by a spring 13.
