Abstract

502,691. Plug-cocks. OMNIA MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and CHAPMAN, F. W. Sept. 22, 1937, No. 25745. [Class 135] A gas cock for controlling main and secondary passages is rotated by-a handle secured by a screw 25 to a tubular stem 23 slidably engaging a slotted projection 21 on the plug 12. A niting pin 32 is secured to the stem 23 and is pressed by a spring 34 into engagement with the bottom of a stepped recess formed on the edge of the casing. While the pin is in the deeper part of the recess the cock controls the secondary passage alone. When the niting pin is moved axially away from the plug into the shallower groove, the cock can be moved to open the main passage, the secondary supply being maintained through a circumferential groove on the plug. The plug is held to its seat by a spring 36 arranged between the projection 21 and a shoulder 37 on the stem 23. A conical strainer is held in an axial passage in the plug by a spring ring 18.
