Lift valves; spindles. -A valve for liquid supply systems, such as domestic water supply, comprises a casing A having a cylindrical bore provided at the inlet end with a valve member D, preferably hemispherical, and at the opposite end with an operating member J, preferably a screw, and intermediately thereof, a loose spindle plunger I. The plunger is recessed at the centre and shaped at the bottom for the passage of fluid. The valve is guided in a socket E of the cap G, and is pressed to its seat by a spring H and by the fluid pressure. The valve may be made of metal or glass.
