Abstract

1388. Lees, A., and Lees, W. Jan. 28. Plug cocks.-The conical plug 8 is hollow and open-ended, and the stem 11, which is formed at the smaller end, passes out through a stuffing - box 12. A spring 16 confined by a cross-pin 15 maintains the plug in contact with its seating, so that the stuffing-box can be re-packed under pressure. The inlet port 6 is rectangular in shape.
