Abstract

140,689. Shoobridge, R. H. Aug. 12, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Valves closing with rush of fluid.-A gas-governor actuated. by the flow of gas comprises a loose ball valve 7 working in conjunction with a conical seat 9. In the form shown as adapted for use with inverted burners, the valve is lightly loaded away from its seat by a spring 6 provided with a perforated abutment 4 adjusted by means of a screw 5 having a conical point: When adapted for use with upright burners, the spring bears against a fixed abutment, and the conical end of the screw adjusts the position of the valve member. The ball may be guided by ribs cast on the sides of the valve chamber.
