Abstract
431,890. Supply fittings for waterwaste - preventers and like tanks. SELLARS, J. C., Oversands, Carrwood Avenue, Bramhall, Cheshire. April 18, 1934, No. 11665. [Class 26] [See also Group XXI] In order to prevent hissing in water-supply tanks, such as waterwaste - preventers, having a float-valve, there is provided in the pipeline leading to the floatvalve, a reducing-valve of the balanced type which is loaded to limit the pressure at the floatvalve to a predetermined maximum independent of the supply pressure. With the valve shown, when the float-valve begins to restrict the flow through the pipe b which delivers thereto, the pressure in a passage h increases so that a diaphragm d is moved against the pressure of a spring e to close or allow to be closed by a spring f, a valve c. The pressure of the spring e may be adjusted by a screw g.
