Abstract
1,107,560. Valves. H. W. JENSEN. 31 Dec., 1965 [15 Jan., 1965; 28 Sept., 1965], No. 55380/65. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a housing A having a connection at the inlet for a flexible hose G and an outlet C. A spherical valve closure E cooperates with a seat D and a rod I connected to the closure extends through the inlet into the hose. The valve closure E is thus urged on to its seat by fluid pressure and may be loaded by a spring while the valve is opened by deflecting the flexible conduit. The rod may extend through an apertured disc inserted in the housing. The valve may be arranged as a cistern inlet valve, the valve housing being connected to a float so that the flexible tube bends with a fall in level to open the valve. The housing may be formed with a seat at opposite ends so that the valve may be used for flow in opposite directions.
