July 7, 1916 Valves closing with rush of fluid.-A valve adapted to be closed by rush of fluid is normally held away from the seat by screw-threads j<1> on the spindle engaging a threaded socket on a guide f and is unscrewed and moved on to its seat j by the fluid acting on a fan or propeller h secured to the valve spindle. The boss of the fan is formed with a projection m adapted to engage a projection n on the spindle guide f<1> to prevent the device being jammed when resetting.
