Abstract

6042. Smirle, M. A. March 11. Combinations of interdependent valves; locking; regulating rate of flow.-A tap is provided with a valve D, Figs. 1 and 3, adapted to be opened against the action of a spring 30 by a push stem 15, an adjustable nut 16 regulating the extent of opening. The valve is locked in its open or closed position by a pivoted dog 22, which may engage either the inner or the outer side of the nut 16. The valve D carries a tube 18 provided with an aperture 21 and working in a recess 19 forming a vent valve. A vent perforation 20 in the casing is closed by a member 24 of the dog 22 when the dog is raised prior to the operation of the valve.
