Lift valves; scats.-In a screw-operated watersupply lift valve of the type comprising an integral casing 2, 3 and a valve 8 separate from the operating-spindle seating by the action of fluid pressure aided by a spring 13, the seating 5 is formed integral with a screwed cover 31 which also carries the screwed spindle 15. By unscrewing the cover 31, the valve seat, valve, and spring can be readily removed for inspection and repairs. A modification is shown in which the valve member is guided by a tubular extension thereof sliding in the supply pipe.
