Abstract
5615. Hill, H. Oct. 14. Actuating.-In a valve of the type operated by the pressure of the fluid, such as steam, gas, or liquid, controlled by an auxiliary valve, the auxiliary or control valve h is formed with a hollow stem e which extends through the main valve e and through the valve casing, and is formed with holes g<1>, g<2> so that the fluid pressure behind the valve e is vented or discharged into the main outlet a'. The control valve may be operated automatically by a float, or manually by a screw, or a spring stopper, or the like.
