Abstract
193,971. Morison, D. B. Dec. 2, 1921. Feed-water, supplying and controlling.-A boiler feed-water supply and control system hasan elevated tank d connected to the system between the condenser suction pump b and a pump c which may be the boiler feed pump, the tank being provided with a float a operating a valve k to effect hydraulic control of the valve or valves for regulating the flow of water to and/or from the system. The valve k controls the connection between a pipe f and the tank d, the pipe having a leak off connection g provided with a valve h and connections to the top of spring-loaded valves e, m which control the admission of supplementary feed to the system and the feed pump discharge from the system respectively. When the water level in the tank d falls, the float closes the valve k so that the water pressure on the top of the valves e, m is released and the springs operate to open the valve e and close the throttle valve m. When the water level in the tank is restored, the valve e closes and the throttle m is opened. Either of the valves e, m may be used alone, if desired. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 170,328.
