683,349. Pressure-regulating valves. WILLAME, G. Dec. 14, 1950 [Dec. 20, 1949], No. 30541/50. Class 135. A pressure reducing valve comprises a ball 19 obturating the inlet and actuated by a lever 20 from a diaphragm 3, the lever being pivoted at 23 on a wire ring surrounding a member 24 which carries the seat member 25 for the ball. The end of the lever abutting against the ball is shaped to the contour of the latter so that the ball will be moved positively in both opening and closing directions. At its other end, the lever is supported on a pin bridging a slot in a stem 22 depending from the diaphragm. The latter is loaded by a spring 15, the strength of which can be adjusted by means of a screw 11 acting on a cup-like abutment 12. The incoming gas passes through a filter 28 before encountering the ball valve 19, and the gas flows away through an outlet 29.
