Abstract

220,525. Broeck, W. van den. Nov. 22,1923. Plug cocks; closure members.-A rotary plug cock is provided with an inner plug which may be adjusted to regulate the maximum flow through the valve. The main plug A is provided with an axial inlet b and radial outlet a<1>, and has a stem A<1> carrying a lever e. The inner plug B is provided with a screwed stem B<1> within the main stem, so that it may be turned by means of a slot b<1> to bring its radial outlet B<2> more or less into register with the outlet a<1> of the main plug. The maximum delivery of the valve is thus regulated. In normal use, the stem B<1> is covered by the screw G which secures the lever e, and both plugs move together when the main plug is operated. A cap C<3> covers the stuffing box d, d'. The lever e may be provided with a pointer to indicate the valve position.
