Lift valves; casings. - A screwdown tap of the bib type comprises the combination and arrangement of the following parts, viz:- A spout b, a hoodshaped cover f having a smooth surface continuous with the upstanding neck a<1> of the casing, with "flats" f<1> by which it can be screwed and unscrewed to and from the neck a<1>, a stuffing - box m, a gland n also with "flats," a screw-threaded inlet connections d with squared portion d' and flange d<2>, a screwed spindle h engaging a thread in the cover f. and a loose-jumper valve member j, all substantially as shown.
