630,682. Manually-actuated valves. KHAREGAT, M. R. July 5, 1946, No. 20116. [Class 135] A valve for baths, washbasins and the like has an operating spindle B passing through a gland A and having a rectangular end-part E fitting a corresponding socket in a plate-like valve-member C which can thus be moved to and fro across a single outlet orifice G in a valve seat member F. The valve member, which may be made of brass or other hard metal, is pressed against the seat by the water pressure. Water reaches the upper side of the seat F through a further orifice, not shown, but this orifice may be dispensed with when the inlet connection is arranged horizontally.
