535,691. Diaphragm valves. BURGESS, A. F. (McAlear Mfg. Co.). Aug. 21, 1939, No. 24042. [Class 135] A diaphragm valve 7 adopted to close on to a seat 4, to prevent the flow of fluid from an inlet 2 to an outlet 3 is provided on the downstream side of the seat 4 with holes 10 communicating with a chamber 6a above the diaphragm, so that if the flow of fluid should become reversed, the higher pressure on the side 3 of the seat is transmitted through the holes 10 to the chamber 6a, and results in the closing of the valve.
