Abstract

1,274,075. Valves. L. B. KEMPE. 8 Sept., 1969, No. 44252/69. Heading F2V. A dispensing tap comprises a hollow body 2 including an inlet 6, an outlet 7 and a valve mem- 14, and a slidable member 12 one end of which is engageable by a handle 8, the other end operating the valve member 14. A cam surface 10 is provided on the end of the handle to act on the end surface 11 of the slidable member 12. The valve member 14 is slidable along passage 5 but is spaced therefrom by projections 19. In operation, the handle is pivoted about pin 9 to lift the valve member off the seat. The end 16 of the slidable member seals the bore 27. On release of the handle, the valve member 14 closes and air is drawn in via apertures 17, 24 to allow the liquid to drain.
