Abstract

1,042,960. Valves. CORNELIUS CO. Dec. 16, 1963 [May 20, 1963], No. 49604/63. Heading F2V. A valve mechanism for use in a liquid dispensing apparatus has a housing 11 traversed by a main passage 17 leading to a main outlet 18 and a main valve seat surrounding this passage and communicable with a supply of liquid, a manually movable main valve body 20 slidably disposed in the main passage and arranged to engage the main valve seat, a subsidiary passage 29 formed within the main valve body communicating with the supply of liquid and leading to a subsidiary outlet 57, and a subsidiary valve body 44 slidably disposed in the subsidiary passage and engageable with a subsidiary valve seat. The main valve 20 is actuated by a hand lever 15 against a spring load 56 while the subsidiary valve 44 is actuated by a press button 53 against a spring load 43 to permit subsidiary flow through passages containing changes in direction and cross-sectional area to induce frothing in the dispensed liquid.
