Abstract

1,224,745. Valves. GASKELL & CHAMBERS (NON-DRIP MEASURE) Ltd. 13 Jan., 1969 [29 Feb., 1968], No. 9833/68. Heading F2V. A tap for dispensing carbonated liquids comprises an outlet 4 and inlet 5, a plunger 4 co-operating with a seating 7 around the outlet, a hand lever 12, pivoted at 13, to lift the plunger from the seating against a spring 11 to permit a non-turbulent flow from the inlet to the outlet, and an additional valve plunger 18 to control a limited turbulent flow through the valve via passages 23. Plunger 10 is connected with lever 12 by a pin-and-slot connection 14, 15, and is arranged so that, when the plunger 10 is moved to a closed position, further movement of the lever depresses plunger 18, against a spring 20, to allow flow through the passages 23. The valve body is supported by a bolt 2.
